FAQ

• How can I clear a configuration, including a demo configuration, of test data to start with an empty company?

  Unfortunately, it’s not possible to completely reset a configuration to a blank state. To start with a fresh configuration without any data, register a new company using the Try it free button on the website. It’s possible to delete workspaces and apps and bulk delete app items. • I exported the entire configuration in Administration > Configuration Export. How can I import this configuration into another company or to another BRIX server?

  To upload the exported configuration to another environment, go to Administration > Home. In the System Settings section, select Configuration Update. For more information, see Export and update configuration.

• When using the search() method in a script to find app items, deleted items are included in the results. How can I find only the non-deleted items?

  Use the __deletedAt property to filter out deleted items. To find only non-deleted app items, add the following condition in the filter: __deletedAt.eq(null). For examples of filters with multiple conditions, see BRIX TS SDK.

• How do I add a file to a variable of Files (many) type in a script?

  Example script: : if (Context.data.file) { Context.data.files = (Context.data.files || []).concat(Context.data.file)} Here, file is a single-file variable, and files is a variable storing multiple files.

• How can I delete a task created using the + Task button?

  It is impossible to delete a task directly, but you can interrupt the process that generated the task. The task author needs to go to Tasks > Assigned by Me, open the task, and click Interrupt Process at the bottom of the page to change the task’s status to Interrupted.

• How can I copy a process map element?

  Within the same process, you can copy a map element by holding Shift and dragging the element on the process diagram.

• Data is displayed incorrectly, for instance, workspaces disappear and don’t load on one PC, while everything works correctly on another. What should I do?

  First, clear browser cache and cookies. If the issue persists, in the browser’s developer tools (F12):

  1. Open the Application tab.
  2. In the Storage section, make sure all checkboxes are selected.
  3. Click Clear site data.
  4. After this, restart your browser.

• When trying to create a new user, I get the “This email address already exists” error, but there is no user with that email in the system. What’s the issue?

  This error indicates an invitation was already sent to this email. The user might have declined the invitation, it could have been canceled, or the user was locked. Perform a search in Administration > Users using the Status filter to exclude users in the Active status and specifying the email address. Then unlock the account or resend the invitation, depending on the current status of the user.

• How can I delete a business process?

  Deleting business processes is not allowed.

• A workspace was imported to the production server and then modified on the test server. How do I update the workspace on the production server without duplicating it?

  To update a workspace, use the Update Workspace function in the workspace settings menu. For more information, see Update workspace.

• How do I send a message to an app item activity stream in a script?

  Use ApplicationItem.sendMessage() to send messages to an app item’s activity stream. For more information, visit BRIX TS SDK. The message will also be sent to the activity streams of users subscribed to the app item.

• On an app page, items can only be displayed as a table or tiles. How can I display app items as a Kanban board?

  You can use the Kanban board view only if you configured statuses for the app. To learn more about setting up and using a Kanban board, go to the Kanban board article.

• How do I connect messaging applications (Telegram, WhatsApp, TelegramBot) to the system?

  Messengers are connected individually to live chats. Open a live chat’s settings in Administration > Live Chats, go to the Messengers and Inbox tab, select a messenger, and click Connect. To learn more, go to Connect messengers to a live chat.

• An error occurs when publishing a process with a scheduled start: “A scheduled process must not have a start event form.” What should I do?

  In the start event settings, on the Form tab, set the default form and remove all variables displayed on the form.

• Where can I find a list of frequent errors and their solutions when setting up and using AD/LDAP modules?

  Common issues and errors are described in the AD/LDAP troubleshooting article.

• How can I delete or edit additional parameters?

  You can delete or edit additional parameters in the database. In the system, you can only change their values. To learn more, see Additional parameters.

• Is it possible to assign a user administrator rights for one specific workspace rather than the entire company?

  Yes. You can assign a workspace administrator, that is, a user who is not included in the Administrators group, but has the right to configure the workspace and the apps and pages within it. Learn more in the Workspace administration article.

• Can a company group be deleted?

  To delete a user group or role, open its page and click Delete. The group will no longer be available in the general list, but it can be restored. For more information, see Groups.

• Can the Tasks workspace be customized?

  The system Tasks workspace cannot be customized. If needed, you can set up your own app, model the required business process logic, and set up view forms as needed. Apps allow you to create and pin custom filters, make folders, etc.

• In a business process script, how can I get a link to that same process?

  To get the process ID: const processId = await Application.processes._searchInstances().first(); Context.data.str = processId!.data.__templateId

• What should I do if the cloud version loads a white screen instead of the page?

  Try the following:

  • Clear cache and cookies.
  • Switch to the incognito mode.
  • Log in from a different browser.

  If multiple companies are open, sign out from other instances and close the tabs (the platform is not designed for multiple instance authorization in one browser).
