RFC calendar

The RFC Calendar is an Event-type app for scheduling planned requests for changes. Company employees involved in RFC work, such as assignees or CAB experts, can track work deadlines and plan their availability.

Thus, the RFC Calendar provides a clear and convenient schedule for planned change work.

Events in the calendar are created:

  • Automatically. After the responsible employee specifies the change implementation dates during the assessment stage.
  • Manually. You can add an event to the calendar and link it to an RFC, for example, if you need to allocate separate time for part of the change implementation work.

Add an event to the RFC calendar manually

To manually record an event:

  1. Go to the RFC Calendar app and click the + RFC Calendar button in the upper-right corner of the page.
  2. In the window that opens:
    rfc-calendar-02
  • Enter the event name.
  • Select an item from the Contacts app to specify a client or contractor participating in the event. You can add a new contact using the + Create button.
  • Set the event start and end dates.
  • Specify the employees participating in the work.
  • Select or create an RFC associated with the event.
  1. Click Save.

If the event overlaps with another entry in the calendar, you can cancel the save and enter a different date and time, or confirm the action (for example, when work is being done in parallel).

A new event will then appear in the RFC Calendar app.

RFC event page

The event page displays key details:  start and end dates, participants, related RFC, and external participants working on the RFC.
