A project can be published in a business process using the Publish Project Plan activity.
Note that if project plan approval is enabled, the Project plan approval system business process is used by default. In this process, the plan is published automatically when it is approved if the Publish after approval option is set to Yes.

Only users with the paid BRIX Projects license can use the Publish Project Plan activity.

In a custom process, you can use the Publish Project Plan activity to automatically change a plan version’s status to Published. When the activity is performed, the project plan approval settings are checked, and then one of the following happens:
- If plan approval is enabled, and the project plan version is assigned the Approved status, it is published.
- If plan approval is enabled, but the project plan version is assigned any status other than Approved, the plan isn’t published, the version status stays the same, and the process continues to run.
- If plan approval is disabled, the project plan version is published no matter the status.
Add the activity to the business process when a project plan version needs to be published. If project plan approval is enabled, place Publish Project Plan after Approve Project Plan.
Before configuring the activity, create an App type variable in the process context and link it to the Project plan app. In the process, the plan version whose status needs to be changed will be written to this variable. If you are setting up your approval process within the Project plan app, this variable is added to the process context by default.
After that, drag the Publish Project Plan activity to the process diagram and double-click on it. In the window that opens, specify the variable linked with the Project plan app.
When you finish configuring the process, bind it with the Project plan app. If project plan approval is enabled in the system, also specify the process in the plan approval settings.
