Correspondence with colleagues can be conducted not only in chats and channels. In BRIX you can comment and discuss files, tasks, and app items right in on the object's page in the associated activity stream. Important comments will not be lost in personal chats, since all information is stored on the page and is always available for viewing.
In the associated activity stream, as in a regular stream, you can:
- Place a message in the Featured folder of the Messages workspace so that you can return to it later;
- React to the message;
- share files;
- @mention users.
Task activity stream
To clarify the details of task execution, use the task activity stream. It is displayed differently depending on how the task is assigned.
- Created from the Tasks workspace. The activity stream is located at the bottom of the page. Comments can be made by the author, executor, approvers, and participants. Messages will be visible in the associated activity stream and in the #Activity stream of each user participating in the conversation.
- Assigned during a business process. The activity stream is located on the sidebar of the page. By default, the activity stream displays notifications about the process progress: initiation, task completions, etc. This can be changed to show messages from the activity stream of the object for which the process is run. To do this, in the business process designer, go to the Settings tab > Associated Activity Stream and select the desired option.
File activity stream
To open the activity stream of a file, open the file preview page and click on the icon in the upper right corner. In the side panel, you will see the file's activity stream. Use @mentions to draw a coworker's attention to your comment.
When you mention an employee who does not have access rights to a file, you will see a notification about it. You can allow the user to view the file if you have Assign permissions level access.
Messages that you and your coworkers leave in the file activity stream are also shown in the #Activity stream of all the participants of the conversation.
App item activity stream
You can work with the app item activity stream in a similar manner as with the activity stream of a task or a file. To write a message, open a workspace, select an app item and click on its name. On the page that opens, on the side panel, you will see the activity stream.
Leave a comment, and if necessary use @mentions.
If the mentioned employee does not have access rights to the app item, a notification will appear in the associated activity stream. You can allow the user to view the app item page if you have Assign permissions level access.
You can subscribe to an app item activity stream if you want to receive notifications about all the messages posted there. To learn more, see App item.
If within the context of one app there is a field referencing another app, their items will be linked together. In this case, you can merge the activity streams of these objects. To do this, modify the settings of the Object activity stream widget on the form of the parent app.
