# Configure the portal in the Customer Service solution

> [HTML Version](setup-customer-portal.html)

To configure the [external portal](customer-portal.md) in the **Customer Service** solution, you can use:

- The [Customer Service Settings page](#settings-page), where the system administrator can set the portal appearance and configure feedback collection.

- The [Onboarding directory](#onboarding), which allows you to create step-by-step instructions for new portal users.

Also, you can post useful information on the portal by filling out the [Articles](add-knowledge-base.md#articles) and [News](add-news-customer-service.md) directories.

## Customer Service Settings page

This page contains four tabs that are used to configure the portal.

### General tab

On this tab, configure settings for collecting customer feedback:

- **Feedback form link**. Specify the feedback form URL address so that customer reviews are recorded in the **Reviews** directory.

- **Feedback waiting time**. This is the period after which the request will be closed without receiving feedback from the customer.

For more information, see the [Configure the feedback form in the Customer Service solution](feedback-form-cs.md) article.

### Portal tab

Customize the portal appearance to match your company’s corporate style:

- Upload your logo.

- Change the page title and welcome text.

- Add your company name, which will be visible to internal users.

- Add a banner.

- Set your brand colors.

On this tab, you can also add **LiveChat**, which is an online chat for communicating with customers on the portal. For more information, see the [Place LiveChat on an external portal](livechat-on-portal.md) article.

Additionally, you can change the portal login page appearance and configure authorization settings. For more information, see the [Configure the portal login page](portal-login-page.md) article.

### Portal Onboarding tab

Set the order in which pages with introductory information from the **Onboarding** directory are displayed. New users will see them when they log in to the portal. To do this:

1. Click the **Edit** button.

2. In the table that opens, arrange the pages in the desired order:

- In the left column, specify the sequential number of the page display for the user.

- In the right column, select the **Onboarding** directory item from the list.

### Feedback Form tab

Set up a form for collecting customer feedback. For more information, see the [Configure the feedback form in the Customer Service solution](feedback-form-cs.md) article.

## Onboarding directory

Create pages with introductory information that customers will see when they first visit the portal.

Click the **+Onboarding** button. Enter a title, description, and add an image.

After saving the pages, set the order in which they will be displayed on the **Customer Service Settings > Portal Onboarding** page.
