# Restore from Archive

**(restore-from-archive-1.png)** During a business process, you can restore a project that has been [archived](archive-the-project.md) using the **Restore from Archive** block. It is used in the preconfigured process within the **Projects** app. By default, the process starts when a user clicks the **Reopen** button on the page of a project with the **Completed** status.

You can also use this block in a [custom business process](360012265552.md). Place it at the step where the project needs to be restored, for example, after assigning a task to the project manager to make the corresponding decision. 

## Restore from Archive activity settings

1. Create an **App** type variable in the process context and link it to the **Projects** app. During the process, the item of the **Projects** app that needs to be restored will be written to this variable.

2. Drag the **Restore from Archive** activity to the process diagram, and open its settings.

3. On the **General** tab, specify the variable created in step 1.

4. On the **Description** tab, enter service information about how the block works for employees who are designing the process. Please note that the tab is available in system versions 2025.10 and higher.
