# Subscription to app item

This widget allows adding a [subscription](360016427291.md#subscribe) button on a task or an app item page. When a new message appears in the [associated activity stream](360014352191.md) of the object that the user subscribed to, these messages will also be shown in the [#Activity stream](360014162972.md) of the subscriber. 

To configure the widget, drag it to the canvas or click **+Widget**. Enter the settings in the opened window.

## Main tab

The **App\*** and **App Item\* **fields are defined automatically in accordance with the app you are working in.

## Events and System tabs

The **Events** and **System** tabs are for system settings that are the same for all the widgets. They allow you to configure a widget’s visibility and access to its data, define what happens, when the user moves or hovers the pointer over the widget, etc. To learn more, see [System widget settings](common_widget_settings.md). 

To complete the settings, click **Save**. To make the changes available to users, click **Save** and **Publish** in the top toolbar.
