# Edit files in BRIX

## Online editing

You can edit files online from the BRIX interface if the system administrator has configured integration with an office suite.

To do this, in the file [view mode](preview-and-edit-files.md), click **Edit** on the top panel. The document editing window will open.

After editing the file, you can:

| **(files-9.png)** | Exit file editing mode and continue file viewing. |
| **(files-10.png)** | Close the preview page. |


A [new version of the file](versions-compare.md) will be added to the system, which will become the current one.
