The directories store data required for working in the Incoming Payments workspace. Directory entries are added by BRIX users who have been granted item creation permissions.
The directories include:
- Revenue Items: this directory is filled with records used to group estimated and received incoming payments. Revenue items are also used to build reports on the company's financial transactions.
- Responsibility Centers: this directory contains information about the financial responsibility centers that manage the movement of funds within the company. Responsibility centers are also used to build reports on financial transactions.
- Currencies: this directory is filled with records that track the exchange rates of the currencies used by the company. The following are added by default: Dollar and Euro. You need to specify a currency when adding a new incoming payment, creating an outgoing invoice, and setting sales goals. Note that the default currencies cannot be edited.
- Sales Teams: this directory is located in the CRM workspace and is used to create groups of employees responsible for sales in the company. You need to specify a sales team when creating sales goals. Note that this catalog is only available to users included in the Administrators group.
By default, the workspace uses Dollar as the main currency. You can change this in the currency and period settings.
When creating a estimated incoming payment, you need to specify a revenue item it's linked to, a responsibility center, and a currency. That's why you need to fill in the relevant directories before you start working in the workspace.
Add directory records
To add a new record to a directory, follow these steps:
- In the Incoming Payments workspace, open the directory you need and, in the top right corner, click +Item Name, for example, + Revenue Item.
