# Calendar

> [HTML Version](calendar.html)

Using the personal **Calendar**, you can schedule events and track deadlines for your [tasks](360014163712.md#incoming).

**(calendar_upd_01.png)**

Apart from the personal calendar, [Event-type apps](360028290132.md) are available in BRIX. Those are calendars where different employees can schedule meetings and events. If you are a participant in an event from such an app, it will also be added to your personal calendar.

For example, HR employees use two calendars created with an **Event**-type app: one for interviews and another for department meetings. In the first calendar, an employee independently schedules meetings with candidates, while in the second they participate as an attendee. In this case, both interviews and department meetings will be displayed in the employee’s personal calendar.

If you are a department manager in the company’s [organizational chart](360003861992.md), you will be able to view the events of their subordinates. To learn more, see [My department](360009293799.md).

## Calendar interface

Here is what the personal calendar of an employee may look like:

**(calendar_upd_02.png)**

1. The counter on the left panel shows the number of events scheduled for the current date. The counter doesn’t show closed events.

2. The left menu features the following calendars:

	- **My Events** is the personal calendar of the current user.

	- **My Department** is displayed for heads of departments and contains calendars of their subordinates. Click **Show more** to open the [My Department](360009293799.md) page.

	- **Available to Me **is displayed if the current user has been given access to the calendar of another user. Click **Show more** to open the list of all the available calendars.

3. The **Settings** section contains the following pages:

	- **Share My Calendar**. You can grant [access](#access) to other users to interact with your calendar.

	- **Export Events**. Here you can configure [integration with external calendars](360028838812.md).

4. Events are displayed in calendar cells. The events that have ended are crossed out. The cell colors reflect your work schedule according to the [business calendar](360004890291.md): working days and hours have a white background, while non-working days are shown in grey. The current day is highlighted in yellow.

5. The toolbar is located above the calendar:

**[![КР\_09](hmfile_hash_cae5036a.png)]** Change view: events and tasks list or the standard calendar.

**[![КР\_12](hmfile_hash_6fffb881.png)]** [Export events](360028838812.md) from the personal calendar and change the calendar access settings.

**(cal_today.PNG)** Go to the current day.

**[![КР\_04](hmfile_hash_3d02b514.png)]** Switch between periods, for example, months.

**(cal_month.PNG)** Chosen display period: month, week, day.

**(cal_event.PNG)** Create a [new event](360026962272.md). When adding an event, the system checks the schedules of the specified participants. If anyone is busy, you can schedule the meeting for a time when everyone is available.

By default, the first day of the week in the calendar is Sunday. Users included in the [Administrators](360006871932.md#administrators) group can change it for Monday in the **Locale Settings**.
