# Access to a workspace

Users who have access to a workspace can interact with the apps stored in it that are [accessible](360009919211.md) to them. Access can be configured when [creating](360006887271.md) the workspace or later in its settings.

Access to a workspace can only be granted to user groups.

If you’re not included in such a group, you won’t see the workspace or its apps in the left menu. If you have [access to an app](360009919211.md) within the workspace, but you don’t have access to the workspace itself, the app will not be available. If you have [access to the app’s data](360007527512.md), you will be able to work with its items using direct links, for example, from process tasks. To configure workspace access, click the gear icon next to its name and select **Workspace Access**.

In the window that opens, specify the [user groups](360007146071.md) that should be able to see the workspace in the left menu.

For example, the **HR** workspace should only be available to the HR department. Select the **HR department** group from the list and click **Save**.

After you save the changes, users not included in the specified group won’t be able to see the workspace and its apps in the left menu or access them using a direct link.
