# Plan sales goals

> [HTML Version](sales-goals.html)

The **Sales Goals** app is designed to create the company's sales plans. Managers can set goals for different periods and assign them to groups and individual employees.

Before you start working with the app:

- Set the period for which sales goals will be created. The available periods are year, quarter, and month. For more information, see [Set the currency and period](transactions-settings.md).

- In the **CRM** workspace, create groups of employees responsible for sales in the company. For more information, see [CRM directories](crm_objects.md#sales_teams).

In the app, you can create goals at three levels: for the entire company, a sales group, or an individual employee. Group goals can be linked to company goals, and personal goals can be linked to group goals.

This makes it possible to set goals with a clear hierarchy so that each employee knows their plan. For example, the CEO can set a goal for a specific amount of annual profit. The sales manager can create a goal for each group to distribute revenue among departments. Sales group lead can then distribute these amounts among the employees in their groups.

To track goal completion, use **Revenue Reports**, where managers can monitor the performance of groups and employees, track progress against the plan, and adjust it. Each manager can use the report to check the remaining amount needed to reach their personal and overall goals.
