> [HTML Version](cortex-setup-stages.html)

**BRIX AI** is installed on your company infrastructure. To install and configure **BRIX AI**, follow the steps in the articles below.

## Stage 1. Install the BRIX AI server

Review the system requirements and select a suitable installation option: using Docker Compose or Docker Swarm.

To learn more about these options and installation steps, see [Install BRIX AI](install-cortex.md).

## Stage 2. Configure integration with BRIX

Import the solution for integration with **BRIX AI** into BRIX and establish a connection. The steps are described in [Configure integration of BRIX with BRIX AI](cortex-integration-solution.md).

## Stage 3. Connect language model providers

BRIX AI components use large language models to operate. Configure access to them as described in [Connect large language model (LLM) providers](cortex-llm-providers.md).

## Stage 4. Add BRIX AI components

Add components to **BRIX AI** that allow you to apply artificial intelligence capabilities to your business tasks.

You can do this in two ways:

1. Set up components from scratch. You can create:

	- [Projects](cortex-projects.md) to store and group other components by use case.

	- [AI agents](cortex-ai-agents.md) to communicate with employees in chat.

	- [AI actions](cortex-ai-actions.md) to embed artificial intelligence functions into business processes.

	- Smart search.

	- Custom tool sets for AI agents and AI actions.

2. Import prebuilt components:

	- [Import](cortex-import.md) an individual component or a project containing multiple related components.

	- Install a [comprehensive solution](cortex-complex-solutions.md) from BRIX Store that combines components for **BRIX AI** and BRIX.
