# Export a component or project from BRIX AI

You can export an individual **BRIX AI** component or a project containing multiple linked components into a **.zip** file. This allows you to:

- Move a component or project to another **BRIX AI** server, for example, from a test environment to production.

- Create a business solution so that other companies can use your configured components.  

- Send a component to technical support for troubleshooting. For example, if an AI agent issues arise, you can export it and attach it to a support ticket.

## Steps to export in BRIX AI

1. Go to the page listing components or projects by selecting the required item in the left menu of **BRIX AI**.

2. Next to the required component or project in the list, click the three dots icon and select **Export**.

3. Save the **.zip** file to your computer.

Each component is exported together with all its linked components. For example, exporting an AI action includes its child agents, used smart search projects, and other dependencies. During subsequent [import](cortex-import.md), an administrator can choose whether to import linked components or replace them with existing ones on the target **BRIX AI** server.
