# Security Audit

In BRIX you can log and analyze events related to changing the user permissions and data using the **Security Audit **module.

You can conduct an internal security audit and meet specific government requirements to protect against unauthorized access to corporate information.

**Security Audit** is a module that records [specific events in the system](audit-module-settings.md#events). These records are stored in a separate database and displayed in the BRIX interface via the **Security Audit** widget.

Security Audit module versions

Depending on your system version, select the current module version:

**Security Audit 3.0**. Used in system versions 2026.4 and higher. The module has a configured [portable service](portable-microservices.md) that automatically deploys a microservice in a Kubernetes environment when the module is enabled.

- **Security Audit 2.4.1**. Deprecated version. Used in systems prior to version 2026.4. For proper operation, the module requires installing a separate **Security Audit** service.

**Important**: if your company used security audit and you upgraded your system to version 2026.4, [install Security Audit 3.0](update-audit.md). With the previous version of the module, events will continue to be logged, but users will not be able to view them in the **Security Audit** widget.

## Module configuration steps

To enable users to work with logged events using the **Security Audit** widget, the system administrator:

1. Performs preliminary configuration. They vary depending on the module version. For more details, see the articles:

2. Get the required module version from your BRIX sales rep and [configure the module](audit-module-settings.md).

3. Create a page and place the [Security Audit widget](audit_extension.md) on it.
